HOCKEY SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS:

ON-ICE INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

All sessions will be coaches by NSD professional hockey staff.  All practices will offer a balance of up-temp over-speed training drills to improve execution at high game simulated speeds, along with individual skill & tactical development

OFF-ICE SKATE TREADMILL SESSIONS

BENEFITS

The Skate Treadmill can help players with stride correction, stride efficiency and effectiveness, speed and power, in order to take their on-ice performance to the next level.

OFF-ICE RAPID SHOT SHOOTING SYSTEM (North Only)

BENEFITS

The Rapid Shot System is a fun, competitive training tool which helps improve each players shot accuracy, power & quick release.

HOCKEY SPECIFIC DRYLAND TRAINING

BENEFITS

Programs are designed for each age group focusing on what they personally need to be at their on the ice.  Training will include; aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, speed, agility, quickness, multi-directional skills, reaction skills, overall strength and power, core strength, and nutritional guidance.  As well as traditional resistance training methods, as each athlete will be exposed to Pilates, boxing, and spin bike classes, administered by world class instructors. 

OFF-ICE SKILL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

NSD SENIOR HIGH COURSES

NSD Senior High School Hockey Courses are designed for intermediate to elite level hockey players who wish to challenge themselves on the ice to reach their maximum playing potential in a fun and stimulating environment.  The goal of these courses is to enable students, parents, teachers and coaches to work together to develop self-motivated, hard working and confident student athletes.  The hockey course includes exceptional on-ice instruction, high performance off-ice development and classroom sessions to develop hockey & life skills.  Courses are run for grades 10 as well as 11/12 separately with ice instruction integrated into the daily class schedule.

SR. HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY COURSE HIGHLIGHTS:

 Up to 65 hours on-ice individual development

  • CBE approved curriculum
  • On-ice development includes
    • Core skills (skating, passing, shooting & puck handling)
    • Over-speed skill training
    • Individual tactics
    • Position specific skills (Defense, Goalies & Forwards)
  • Up to 65 hours off-ice development
  • Off-ice development includes:
    • Skate Treadmill
    • Rapid Shot Shooting System
    • Off-ice shooting skills development sessions
    • Off-ice puck handling skill development sessions
    • Hockey specific dryland training
  • Up to 30 hours classroom
  • Sport performance (CBE instructed)
  • Hockey Theory
  • Life Skills

NSD School Hockey Courses are designed for novice to elite level hockey players who wish to challenge themselves on the ice to reach their maximum playing potential in a fun and stimulating environment.  The goal of these courses is to enable students, parents, teachers and coaches to work together to develop self-motivated, hard working and confident student athletes.  The hockey course includes exceptional on-ice instruction, high performance off-ice development and classroom sessions to develop hockey & life skills.  Courses are run for grades 7 through 9 separately with ice instruction integrated into the daily class schedule.

SCHOOL HOCKEY COURSE HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Up to 65 hours on-ice individual development

  • On-ice development includes
