Rick has over 35 years of hockey experience as both a player and a coach. He played for a number of Calgary Junior teams before playing and coaching in Germany. Rick has had an extensive coaching career that spans over 3 decades. Rick was the youngest Division 1 coach in Europe leading his team to play-offs, a first in club history. Rick continued his career as Head Coach and General Manager of several teams throughout Germany and Switzerland, and brought each team to play-offs or further. Rick managed and coached several Elite Hockey Development Programs for all age levels and currently brings his wealth of coaching experience to National Sports Development. His coaching style and extensive knowledge is a welcomed asset to the organization

James grew up playing his minor hockey in Calgary which led him to playing NCAA hockey at Lake Forest College in Illinois. James has an extensive coaching background. From 2003-2005 James was the head coach for the Midget AA Rangers in the CBHA (included Minor Hockey Week title, a City Championship & Provincial Silver Medal.) In the 2005/2006 season James was the head coach for the Midget A Rangers and led his team to the Sutter Cup Championship (SAML). During the 2006/2007 season James was the assistant coach with the Midget AAA Buffaloes who took the Bronze medal at the MAC's Midget Tournament. Currently James is now the head coach of the Midget AAA Buffaloes.

Marian Rooney

Marian joined the NSD team in the summer of 2007. She brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience to the NSD hockey department. Marian has 15 years of experience administering hockey programs, 10+ years experience in hockey development and 20+ years work experience in Education. She is currently the Ice Coordinator and Director for the Calgary Northstars Hockey Associaton. Marian doesn't stop there, she is also the VP of Activities for the Riverbend Community Association. Marian is a huge asset to the NSD hockey department and NSD as a whole.
