Maximizing Strength Through Muscle Activation Techniques (M.A.T) & Personal Training (PTS)

M.A.T. — What is it?

Muscle Activation Techniques was developed by Greg Roskoff. M.A.T is a systematic approach to balancing your muscular system. It is a revolutionary set of checks and balances that result in increased stability and mobility. It looks at your body from a muscular point of view and attacks pain and limitations at the roots. Through this dynamic approach, you will increase your range of motion, increase joint stability, reduce muscle fatigue, and speed muscle recovery.

M.A.T is completely different from any other technique. M.A.T looks at muscle tightness as a form of protection in the body. Weak or inhibited muscles can create the need for other muscles to tighten up in order to help stabilize the joint. M.A.T gets to the cause of pain or injury by addressing muscle weakness rather than muscle tightness. The focus is on the cause not the symptom.

Inhibited muscles cause your body to become misaligned which results in pain or an injury. M.A.T Certified Specialists work with the intention of reducing your body’s compensation patterns by reactivating muscles that are working inefficiently. The end result is restored body alignment which means less painful movement and improved performance levels.

This technique was initially designed to help athletes, but anyone from all age groups can benefit from M.A.T.. M.A.T provides a pain free lifestyle along with elevating sport performance and career longevity in several professional athletes.

Maximum Performance

Whether you want to increase your effectiveness in your daily activities, are an athlete with an injury who wants to minimize down time or are someone who is limited by pain, we can help.

We’ve found that combining Muscle Activation Techniques and Personal Training leads to optimum levels of health and performance.

M.A.T will help you with:

  • Assess and correct muscular imbalances that are contributing to your injuries
  • Speed up recovery from an injury
  • Find the cause behind the tightness
  • Optimize your performance level
  • Increase overall range of motion and joint stability
  • Reduce joint pain, muscle pain soreness
  • Suffer from sciatica, arthritis, tennis elbow, etc.
  • Relief from back problems
  • Given birth / C-section
  • Want to experience ease of movement
  • Any physical rehabilitation needs
  • Chronic muscle or joint pain, including arthritis

M.A.T & PTS: a symbiotic relationship...

If you are continuing (or beginning) an exercise program with inhibited muscles, you can compound your body’s compensation patterns and thereby make problems worse.

M.A.T, which targets muscular imbalances and realigns the body to reduce compensation, and PTS (Personal Training Specialist), which allows for improved understanding of how to rebuild strength in problem areas highlighted by M.A.T, complement one another. Removing dysfunction can only lead to better potential for optimum performance and maximizing strength.

Is it necessary to combine M.A.T. and PTS ?

No, it is not essential for M.A.T and PTS to be used in tandem. If you prefer, Muscle Activation Techniques can be a stand-alone rehabilitation program.

Personal Training & Your Life

Exercise is a great way to reduce stress, increase your energy and improve your overall health. Deciding to undertake a resistance training program with a personal trainer is a very personal decision. Consult with your physician before starting any exercise regime.
