Conditioning for Excellence (CFE) is National Sports Development's most elite and comprehensive High Performance on ice program. CFE offers both amateur (minimum age 15/16 years old) and pro hockey players the opportunity to prepare for their upcoming training camps and tryouts.
Each individual will be assigned a group based on age and/or caliber to ensure for the most competitive environments. The CFE format combined with the commitment and work ethic of the athletes will drastically increase both physical and mental preparation.
***Full Time NSD HPT athletes will be eligible for a $25 discount per week ($20 for the short weeks)***
The program consists of 90 minute ice times which will include the following:
- High Tempo Flow Drills
- Game Scenario Combative Drills
- On-Ice Conditioning
- Scrimmages
- Individual Player Development
- Instruction by NSD Hockey Staff
The Dressing Room option adds the following features (Pro level only):
- Equipment Storage
- Daily Laundry
- Toiletries
- Skate Sharpening (on request)
- Tape and Stick Accessories
- Daily Sport Drinks
- Game Day Lunch
- Full-Time Team Trainer

NSD Specialty Team Clinics
Want an expert on the ice with your team?
National Sports Development offers minor hockey teams the opportunity to have NSD Hockey staff come out to a team practice and run specialized clinics for their team at any time during the hockey season. NSD currently provides several Minor Hockey Associations throughout Calgary and surrounding area with several training options such as specialized team practices, on ice skill development, off ice skill development, team building sessions, and coach mentorship. The specialized clinics include the following categories:
- Power skating - Stride Efficiency, Acceleration, Agility, Edge Control, Over-Speed & Resistance training
- Goal scoring - Shot Release, Net Front Readiness, Deflections, Rebounds, Puck Protection, Offensive Positioning and Offensive Team Tactics.
- Defenseman - Backward Skating, Mobility, Angling, Gap Control, Defending the Rush, Passing and Shooting.
- Body Checking - Balance, Power, Body Positioning, On Ice Safety and Injury prevention.
- Core Skills - Skating, Passing, Stick Handling and Shooting from Novice to Pro

Team/Association Conditioning Camps
National Sports Development is currently running condition camps for several Calgary Minor Hockey Associations. The on-ice skills include high-speed drills, skating and passing which will help players prepare for upcoming evaluations.

Spring Hockey
During the months of April, May and June of 2008, NSD will be operating AA Development and AAA Elite teams which will focus on developing minor hockey players' core skills and understanding of the game of hockey in a fun, intensive team atmosphere.
Depending on the age group, the program will offer a specified number of on-ice hours followed by hockey specific dryland training instructed by Certified NSD Instructors and NSD's elite High Performance Trainers. Unlike other spring hockey programs, NSD will focus on individual skill development, rather than team wins and losses, helping each player maximize his true playing potential.
