INFORMATION: 201 - 8788
National Sports Development has very quickly become Calgary's most popular and talked about youth to professional hockey development organization. NSD's focused and committed approach to specific skill and conditioning programs allow each of NSD's athletes to enhance their own competitive advantages, regardless of level played.

NSD's head instructor is Rick Alexander, a native Calgarian who is highly regarded by his peers. Rick has spent the last 20 years playing and coaching in Europe's top divisions, enjoying much success. All of NSD's assistant coaches (most have played professionally) have been hand picked with each coach bringing a specific skill set to NSD's programs.

On-ice drills will include multi-directional skating skills such as the forward stride, tight turns, pivots, crossovers, first step Quickness, footwork, mobility, head positioning, gap control, angling and contact (Pee Wee and older). As well, position specific drills will be implemented.

All aspects of NSD programs place a large emphasis on learning explosive stride power, efficiency of movement, speed, agility, quickness, (SAQ) power and proper mechanics.

NSD's development programs have been called, "awesome", "strict", "fun", "energetic", "fast paced" and "unparalled".

2008 HOCKEY CAMPS

SUMMER HOCKEY SCHOOLS

National Sports Development offers their annual Hockey School each year for three weeks in August. Boys and girls ages 5 to 16 will participate in a variety of one-week programs (Mon - Fri). The participants will be grouped according to age and skill level.

Note to Goalies:

Although goalies register separately, this is not a goalie specific hockey school. The goalies will participate in the same skills and training as the other players, as well as goalie specific coaching from a qualified goalie instructor.

Hockey School days will consist of a 4 ½ hour schedule, filled with hockey-specific training both on- and off-ice. Each day NSD will provide the athletes with a foundation of hockey skill fundamentals such as Skating, Stick Handling, Shooting, Passing and Puck Control. These on-ice skills will be challenged through high-speed drills, skill-specific stations and scrimmages. The off-ice component will consist of team activities and sport specific training at NSD as well as outside (weather permitting). Both the on-ice and off-ice sessions will be instructed by our professionally trained NSD staff.

***One-way transportation will be provided from FLC to NSD***
